Part-Time Seasonal Holiday Lighting Technician
Humbug Holiday Lighting of Sioux Empire is looking for dependable, hard-working individuals to join our team for the 2026 holiday lighting season!
If you enjoy working outdoors, being part of a team, and seeing the results of your work at the end of the day, this could be a great seasonal opportunity. You’ll help us transform homes and businesses throughout the Sioux Empire with professional holiday lighting displays.
No holiday lighting experience is required — we provide training!
What You'll Do
- Install professional holiday lighting and decorations on homes and businesses.
- Work on rooflines, trees, shrubs, wreaths, garland, and other holiday displays.
- Safely use ladders, lifts, hand tools, and installation equipment.
- Assist with troubleshooting, repairs, and service calls throughout the season.
- Follow installation plans and pay close attention to detail.
- Keep job sites, vehicles, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
- Work with your crew to complete installations safely and efficiently.
- Provide friendly, professional service when interacting with customers.
- Assist with holiday light takedowns and organization after the season.
What We're Looking For
- Dependable and ready to work.
- Comfortable working outdoors in changing South Dakota weather.
- Comfortable working on ladders and at heights.
- Physically able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Able to follow directions and work well as part of a crew.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work.
- Positive attitude and good communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
- Previous experience with construction, roofing, landscaping, electrical work, ladders, or outdoor labor is helpful, but not required.
Schedule
This is a part-time seasonal position during our busy holiday lighting season.
- Primarily September through early December, with takedown work continuing after the holidays.
- Hours may vary depending on weather and installation schedules.
- Daytime, evening, and weekend availability may be available.
- Additional hours may be available during peak installation weeks.
This can be a great fit for someone looking for seasonal income, including college students, individuals with another part-time job, or anyone who enjoys hands-on outdoor work.
